Compensation for transport companies from truck manufacturers

In order to obtain compensation for our client, we have begun negotiations with the manufacturers of certain trucks. The total amount we are claiming on behalf of the Principal is 175,245.231 euros.

The claim is based on the July 19, 2016 issue. by the European Commission, a decision (AT.39824 – Trucks) imposing extremely high financial penalties on Europe’s leading truck manufacturers. The basis for the fines was violation of the right to competition by participating in price collusion. The collusion consisted of determining and increasing the gross price of trucks (medium and large) in the territory of the European Economic Area, as well as scheduling and transferring the cost of introducing emission technologies for medium and large trucks.

The above may have led to tort-induced damage to the assets of many transportation companies, as the price collusion lasted from 1997. By 2011. Shipping companies were particularly vulnerable to the cartel.

The addressees of the European Commission’s decision are: MAN SE, MAN Truck & Bus AG, MAN Truck & Bus Deutschland GmbH; Daimler AG; Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V., CNH Industrial N.V., Iveco S.p.A., Iveco Magirus AG; AB Volvo, Volvo Lastvagnar AB, Renault Trucks SAS, Volvo Group Trucks Central Europe GmbH, PACCAR Inc., DAF Trucks Deutschland GmbH, DAF Trucks N.V., DAF.
